beyondcompute: The place actually became quite good. That is, nice and competent people work there now. The shrinkflation seemingly did touch those mezes a bit. But if you care for smaller bites and snacks, those could be had at relatively healthy prices.Also the timetable is pretty humane towards the customers, at least in terms of wanting to grab a bite a bit later in the evening.Really, it’s one of my favorite places for eating in the area!

Jani Aho: It's been a while since the last time..But we were not disappointed, the blueberry pie with custard worked well.Lime juice and Orange juice also tasted good. We ordered starters and main dishes for two and everything was as tasty as it looked. The food came fast, hot and was simply delicious. On top, the owner is very friendly. We can definitely recommend to come here for dinner if you love Indian food. If you‘re not sure you should give it a try. ;-)
We came to have lunch in a group of three. It was Saturday around 5pm. The place is located quite centrally, would take a 10 minute walk from the central station. The restaurant is not very big, around 10 tables for 4. They had plenty of empty places when we visited. We ordered a main dish each and some drinks. The food came moderately fast. The food was tasty, everything looked fresh, portions were sufficient. Each dish was around 16-20 eur. Alcoholic drinks ~6-7 eur. The place was clean, the service was nice and fast. The interior, although pleasant, could be refreshed, looked a bit outdated. Overall We enjoyed our visit.
The host was polite and welcoming. The chef is a true master! for starters, we had curry prawns and veg samosas; mains: mixed grill platter and butter chicken. The finer details were as good: their naan, mango drink, gulab jamun, and Indian tea! Thank you, Chef!

A friend from the area recommended that we try Monal as we were visiting from the U.S. The staff were attentive and provided recommendations based on our tastes and dietary restrictions. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. We sampled the garlic chicken tikka, samosas, butter chicken-but the naan...SO DARN GOOD! During our ten day stay in Helsinki, we dined at this restaurant three times! It's a must try! According to my boyfriend, it is much better than anything from New York. Pics to follow.
