Heather's Helsinki Ltd.: what do users think?

emporio: The group is small, the tour is very personalized and at the end you have gotten to know Helsinki even better thanks to Heather. Highly recommended.

Lindsay Evans: We were delighted with this tour! Heather coordinated with us seamlessly and the details of the day were very well planned-out. Even though it was our last day in Helsinki and we had seen many of the major sights, Heather provided so much new and interesting information that it felt like we were seeing things anew.Food was sprinkled well throughout the tour and included things such as chocolate buckthorn juice, covered licorice, Finnish cakes and pastries, and some delicious salmon soup/bites for lunch. We enjoyed everything we ate and all of the great conversation. We left with a variety of little treats, such as reindeer jerky and black currant sparkling juice! Would highly recommend this tour as a way to experience Helsinki and Finnish culture!

Allison Theobold: food was incredible. I never expected to learn so much about the history and culture surrounding finnish cuisine! I would undoubtably recommend Heather's tour to anyone visiting Helsinki.

Libby Schinnow: Thank you!

Maria Oskroba: Heather is a wonderful person and I strongly recommend you book her food tours!

Yosmar Martinez: that often goes on food tours, I can say this is probably one of the best I've taken!

Brandon Frank: Heathers tour of Helsinki was one of the best walking tours I have done. She’s a native English speaker and fluent in Finnish so she can really tailor her communication to the whole group. This tour is a bit different to most, because Heather gives you a look into local Finnish life by visiting a supermarket where they shop, talking about what people buy and how they use it, and even visited a local state run alcohol store. I will definitely be recommending this to people I know who are travelling to Helsinki.

Doulene Walker: We had such a memorable couple of days with Heather. We started out with a food tour and then booked her privately for a day tour to Porvoo. The food tour was fantastic where we learnt so much and ate yummy things. Our private guide experience was tailored to what we wanted to see and do including the Rock church and Cat Cafe. Heather also taught us how to roll snowballs to make a huge snowman! Thank you Heather, we will always remember this time and you so fondly.

joanne weaving: We took the Fork in Hand tour and would highly recommend it. Heather is a wonderful guide and her passion for the food, culture and history of Helsinki made for a really fun and informative day. Everything was delicious and Heather took us to some real gems that we simply would not have discovered on our own. She also gave us lots of recommendations for the rest of our trip

Paul Hightower: . While not necessarily and off-the-beaten path tour, the stops and content were EXTREMELY helpful in offering one bearings when it comes to Finnish food and culture. We wrapped up our day not only with a full belly, but also a much keener understanding of and more robust perspective on Finland.

Liron Kanety: Heather's trip is amazing! She's super nice and informative. We got to see so many part of helsinki that only the locals know. Each dish comes with a story about Finland and helsinki. Also in between places to eat Heather showed us a key points of helsinki and their story.I highly recommend taking the tour upon your arrival- you will get lots of ideas

Berkley Sandford: Heather’s walking tour was a fantastic introduction to the city! Heather was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! We made a point to go back to a couple locations heather showed us before we left. Would recommend!

Jennifer Saggers: On the morning of Heather's Helsinki Fork in Hand Tour, my husband and I were fortunate to have Heather to ourselves. Heather, who happens to be an Aussie has made Finland her home. Sharing her knowledge of the food, the culture and history, we explored a small section of Helsinki, including the Central Station where she pointed out a special historic spot, what was the oldest restaurant area with its early 1900 booths, decor and fittings. Below ground is the large supermarket. Having already sampled a popular, savoury and nutritious breakfast or anytime warmed pastry, and the vitamin C bomb - the juice of a certain berry, it was good to see where these products can be bought and their range. With an incredibly short season, the most is made of local produce: cloudberries, lingonberries, etc, many wild; the tree fruits, vegetables and root vegetables. From the range we saw, the Finnish take their seafood, deer and bear meats seriously. Exploring other iconic food establishments we continued our flavour filled tour. The pace was easy, the foods delicious and the conversations flowed. After a warming bowl of delicious soup, a special open sandwich and a range of tastings including delicious licorice from Finnish recipe, we turned our attention to some other iconic Finnish products... these inedible... but beautiful. Some more walking, thank goodness, as we were quite full, it was time for the final stop with extra special treats! What a wonderful way to spend our final day in Finland...I'd recommend doing this tour earlier as Heather passes on special discounts and information.

Jessica Hammer: , but also keep an open mind because I tried several things that I didn't expect to like but ended up really liking. Thanks for such a fabulous experience, Heather!

Jordyn Trent: I had an incredible time on this tour with Heather! I really loved how many places we went and all the foods we got to taste. Heather was very spontaneous, knowledgeable and fun. I feel like this tour was a steal for the price I paid and would highly recommend it to anyone else looking to try some local food and learn more about Finnish food culture and history!

Victoria Wilson: Fantastic way to explore the city! Heather is knowledgeable about the city and the local food culture. Great value and fun
